We are a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote the art and excellence of watercolor painting. Our members include many watercolor instructors who teach at all levels, and artists who exhibit at prominent galleries, museums and in nationally acclaimed shows. Some serve as jurors; others give demonstrations and programs for art and community groups.
January 2012 Featured Artist: Karen Beach

Karen Beach says, "Without a doubt, water is featured frequently in my paintings; I am happiest when I am in or around water.
"Photos taken while traveling, especially from islands in the Caribbean, provide the inspiration for the majority of my work. Whatever the subject, my goal is to enhance the view—paying attention to the power of transparency, and keeping the painting fresh with pure and often surprising color. I’m drawn to unusual compositions, unusual cropping, as well as interesting shapes of shadow and light.
"I’m a big believer in watercolor “magic” whether it works for good —or not so good. Plan as you will, watercolor keeps you humble."
