PVW, based in the Maryland/
Virginia/D.C. area, is a juried society of watercolor painters
We are a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote the art and excellence of watercolor painting. Our members include many watercolor instructors who teach at all levels, and artists who exhibit at prominent galleries, museums and in nationally acclaimed shows. Some serve as jurors; others give demonstrations and programs for art and community groups.

February 2012 Featured Artist: Terri Rea

Terri Rea says,  "As an identical twin I have always been interested in the issue of identity: how we separate and individuate, how we define ourselves as independent beings.
Ever since I started taking art classes I loved that artists have their own 'handwriting', and that after a couple of weeks I could usually recognize which classmate did which work.
I am fascinated by how one's sense of self changes and evolves through the life cycle; not just with twins but with us as artists on artistic journey.
Over the last couple of years I have gradually moved from transparent watercolor to acrylics and have done various pictures in a "twin series" as well as exploring non-representational painting.
Art and PVW have enriched my life immeasurably, and I take great joy from this community."
