Sources of good prices on art books:
www.half.com - Owned by eBay, this site has individuals (and some web businesses) offering used books and remainders at set prices, often less than half the cover price. Search by took title, author, or keyword as part of a title search (for example, watercolor). Shipping charges are quite reasonable, and set per book, so it doesn't pay particularly to consolidate your order with one seller.
www.AllDirect.com - A bare-bones site for purchasing new books (also movies and CDs) at substantially reduced prices (hardcovers average 40% off, paperbacks 36% off). Shipping and handling are somewhat less than on sites such as Amazon or Borders.
www.Hamiltonbook.com - The site for a dealer in book remainders who often advertises in "The Artist Magazine". A Search for "watercolor" as part of a title brings up 50-80 books depending on current stock. Prices for titles designated as "shopworn" or "missing dust jacket" are often very low, and the books are usually in quite good condition. Shipping is reasonable.
