Connie Boland has been juried a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. She had a solo exhibit at the Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, January 15 - February 15.

Carol Bouville has been juried a signature artist member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. She also had four paintings accepted by the Gaithersburg Fine Art Association show at Kentlands, where she received second place for a mixed media collage and an honorable mention for a watercolor.

Gwen Bragg will be leading a group of painters to picturesque southern Spain, September 6-18. The group will be at the Hotel Reina Victoria in Ronda for seven nights, then move to the Melia in Granada for the last five nights. Peggy Brown was the Grand Prize winner of the Art Supply Warehouse Catalog Contest. Her painting is on the cover of the new ASW catalog, issued in March 2003, and she received a gift certificate for art supplies.

Chica Brunsvold had work recently in these shows: Englewood (CO) Arts National, The Art League "Art for Kids" (award), Georgia Watercolor Society, Hilton Head (SC) Art League, Midland (TX) Arts Association, Northwest Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama. Her solo exhibitions in 2003 include The Left Bank Cafe, Washington, DC, in February (arranged by our own Chris Heyse); Longwood University, Farmville, VA, March-May, where she presented a slide show and painting demonstration on March 27; and Jekyll Island, GA Arts Association, July.

Rachel Collins was juried into the Torpedo Fctory Artists Association, which means that she becomes a peripathetic artist, moving from one studio to another as opportunities arise for subleasing bits of studio space at the Torpedo Factory. On May 3, she will speak and demonstrate at the meeting of the Fairfax Art League. She currently has a painting in the "Challenge of Champions" exhibit sponsored by the Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and will be showing paintings in the Southern Watercolor Society exhibit and the Midwest Watercolor Society's national show. This summer she will have a show at Glenview Mansion in July and will teach an intensive watercolour course at the Baha'i Academy for the Arts in England.

Jacqueline Dinora, Carolyn Gawarecki, Mary Marple, and RosemaryNothwanger each had paintings accepted by the Baltimore Watercolor Show and the PVW Show, both at Strathmore Hall in Rockville, MD, in April.

Bernice Duvall has an exhibit of wax-resist paintings in paper at the Sandy Spring Museum in Sandy Spring, MD, March 24-June 23, 2003.

Carolyn Gawarecki conducted an evening demonstration for the Annapolis Watercolor Society in March.

Linda Tish Goldstein had a show at the Yellow Barn Gallery in Glen Echo, MD, in March.

Anne Hanna was awarded "best in show" in the National Watercolor Landscape juried exhibit held at the Zwaanendael Gallery, Lewes, DE. She will have a one-person show there some time during 2003. Anne will be the featured artist at the Beebee Hospital/Rehoboth Art League art auction held each spring.

LeAnn Kalita's large watercolor, "Glorious Ascent,"was juried into the 52nd National Exhibit of the Academic Artists Association in Springfield, MA and her first oil painting, "Spilled Lady Apples," was juried into the Hudson Valley Art Association's 72nd Annual National Exhibition in Hasting-on-Hudson, NY. She also received the Winsor and Newton Award at the Academic Artists Association National Exhibition of Contemporary Realism in Art.

Graciela Keane and her husband, John, are moving to Asuncion, Paraguay for three years. Their new address, effective June 1, 2003, is U.S. Embassy, Unit 4701 APO AA 34036. No extra postage required. Graciela says, "Perhaps PVW would like to organize a painting trip combined with tourism? I could accomodate up to 6 people. Or help with accommodations for a larger group."

Pauline Lorfano has a watercolor exhibit at DynCorp Building in Reston, VA, until April 25. Pauline also has two drawings in the Welcome Home Magazine February issue.

JoAnne Ramsey's painting "The Bicycle" was accepted into the Mid-Atlantic show at Strathmore Hall.

Betzi Robinson was in the Allied Artists of America's 89th Annual in November, and the Sumi-e Society of America 1st Virtual Exhibition (invitational artist), which opened in November. She has been accepted in the Louisiana Watercolor Society's 33rd annual show in May 2003. In the teaching area, she enjoyed making a run down to Florida in January, in between snowstorms, to teach a workshop in Sarasota, Florida.

Jackie Saunders received an honorable mention for her floral "Anniversary Bouquet" at the Art League Patrons Show, a first place in watercolor in the March show for "Fidel, Two Views," and a drawing award in April for "Elena Magnified."

Mary Lou Shields and Muriel Ebitz had a show of their watercolors at Borders Book Store at White Flint Mall, in the Coffee Shop, February 25 - March 15.

Frank Spink will have a one-man show at the Art Depot in Abingdon, VA, June 1 - July 18, 2003. The theme will be "Seasons." All the paintings will be his own adaptive blend of western and Sumi-e styles using traditional oriental brush painting materials and techniques in nontraditional ways.

Liz Roberts is a new member of Gallery West in Alexandira, VA, where she has two paintings on exhibit.

Elaine Weiner-Reed's watercolor "Innocence" was accepted into the Watercolor Society of Alabama's 62nd national exhibition, juried by Barbara Nechis, May 3 - June 1, 2003.
