The judge for this show was Kathleen Moran. Ms. Moran is the Gallery Director for Glenview Mansion in Maryland. Judge's Statement It was an honor to have the opportunity to judge the Potomac Valley Watercolor exhibit at Cafe Monet. Although a small exhibit, the diversity of images and range of use of watercolor as a medium was a delightful discovery. This variety of experiences is a direct reflection the quality of the PVW membership. Congratulations to the organization! As always, the outcome of judging will always be different depending on who is given the privilege of making the selections. All PVW artists are to be commended for the spirit and commitment they have given to their art via participation in this public display. I attempted in my award recognitions to respond to a variety of styles and personal approaches to assorted subject matters. All award winners reflect highly successful paintings that denote a successful and personal handling of watercolor as well as an great artist eye for composition! It is with regret that I can not join you at the reception - I am out of town enjoying a rare family trip! Keep on creating! ~ Kathleen Moran ~ [ top ] |
